Matthew 16:15-19 KJV: He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (16) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealeditunto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (18) And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (19) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Here, the Lord Jesus tells Peter and us by the Holy Spirit that knowledge revealed to us by the Holy Spirit will give us keys to the Kingdom of heaven.
Now, this knowledge is revealed to our minds by the light of the life of God that flows from the Holy Spirit through our human spirits into our hearts: wills, mind and emotions.
2 Corinthians 4:6 KJV: For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
This revelation knowledge gives light to our minds so that the knowledge of the invisible things of the Spirit which, we ordinarily would be ignorant of because our physical senses cannot perceive them, would be known to us.
This revelation knowledge of the spiritual realities of the Kingdom of God become ‘keys’: they give us access to the wisdom and power of God to enforce His Kingdom or dominion in our souls, bodies and physical circumstances.
For instance, revelation of the dominion of the righteousness of God over sin will open to us how to tap into the wisdom and power of God to experience the dominion of righteousness over sin in our conduct.
Similarly, revelation of the dominion of healing over sickness will give us access to the wisdom and power of God to experience the dominion of healing and health over sickness and disease. The same is true for dominion over ignorance, poverty and physical death.
So, how then do we get this revelation knowledge?
By:
1. Having and maintaining an attitude of meekness and lowliness of heart:
Proverbs 11:2: Pride comes, then shame comes; but with the lowly is wisdom.
2. Praying as a daily habit for the spirit of wisdom, revelation and understanding like Paul prayed in Eph 1:16-23; Col 1:9-11; Philp. 1:9.
3. Praying as a daily habit with tongues and travail:
1 Corinthians 14:2 MKJV: For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. For no one hears, but in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
1 Corinthians 2:7 MKJV: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, which God has hidden, predetermining it before the world for our glory;
1 Corinthians 2:10 MKJV: But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Psalms 42:7 MKJV: Deep calls to deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and Your billows have gone over me.
John 7:38-39 KJV: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (39) (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
4. Fasting as a weekly (Sabbath) habit:
Isaiah 58:6-8 NIV: Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? (7) Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? (8) Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
5. Daily habit of balanced bible reading and study as shown in our book ‘Keeping Yourself in The Love of God’.
So let us practice these things and so get the ‘keys of the Kingdom’!
