BLESSED ARE THEY WHICH HUNGER AND THIRST AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS
(week 44/17)
DEOYE OBE, OLUBI JOHNSON AND GBOYEGA ADESIYAN

Matthew 5:6 KJV: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

God desires a company of His people in this hour that hunger and thirst for His righteousness, He has promised that such shall be filled with the fullness of God, bodily (Eph. 3:19).

There are two kinds of righteousness:

  1. Our right standing with God through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus that got us born again and gives us access to God that we may receive His Life. (2Cor. 5:21; Is. 54:17).
  1. Right doing, which has to do with our daily conduct.

The righteousness which God desires a company of His people to hunger and thirst after is the “right doing” righteousness that comes through using our access to the life of God through the frequent use of the blood of Jesus, that will lead to right doing in our conduct as we pump the life of God through our souls and into our mortal flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is a hunger and a thirst for righteousness that produces an abundance of ZOE, the life of God in the mortal flesh (2Cor. 4:10-11).

Proverbs 11:19 KJV: As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

Proverbs 21:21 KJV: He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

Romans 8:10-14 KJV: And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. (13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (2Cor. 5:4).

The Lord Jesus exemplified this righteousness in His sojourn on earth, when He used the right standing access He had with the Father to exemplify right doing, thereby pleasing God, and obtaining an eternal name above every other (Phil.2:8-11).

Psalms 45:6-8 KJV: Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. (7) Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. (8) All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Why are we to hunger and thirst after righteousness?

The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is now at a Kairos moment, prophetically typified by the events at the wedding feast in Cana of Galilee which the Lord Jesus attended with His mother in the company of His disciples.

The wine (represents revelation knowledge) has finished and the Lord has submitted to His spiritual oversight or covering (His mother, Mary). The Lord commands the six (the number which typifies man) waterpots (representing the bodies or ‘container’ of man (Ps. 58:9)) that were set (or ready) to be filled with two or three (number of witness) firkins of water (a type of the life of God: ZOE).

(John 2:1-11)

The word ‘Cana’ means zeal, jealous, possession. This, prophetically signifies a feast where the Lord Jesus begins to do miracles by the Spirit without measure (Jn. 2:11) that will be a gathering of people who are zealous, (passionate, diligent) to see the glory of God manifest in their physical bodies! They have learnt the secret of, and are practicing, the principles of how to possess their bodies in sanctification and honour. (1Thess. 4:3-4; 1Thess. 5:23).

Those that do not learn to possess their vessels in sanctification and honour, may experience the destruction of the flesh (1Cor. 5:5; 1Cor. 6:18) because they would have dishonored God and so may not inherit the Kingdom or, the Spirit without measure!

1Corinthians 6:18-19 KJV: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body…..

Ephesians 5:5 KJV: For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Esau prophetically typifies the Christian, who because of immediate carnal or monetary advantage or gain, despise his birthright or inheritance of the fullness of the Spirit without measure.

Hebrews 12:16-17 KJV: Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. (17) For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

2018 is the year of God’s divine favour and the day of vengeance (Is. 34:8) upon them that trouble Zion (Satan and his cohorts and the Saul system that has troubled the church through rebellion and idolatry (1Sam. 15:23).

The Lord Jesus begins to do miracles after 18 years of being subject to His parents. This is a prophetic shadow of the season we are about to enter in the year 2018!

Luke 2:42 KJV: And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

Luke 2:51-52 KJV: And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. (52) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

18 years later at 30, in full maturity, the Lord Jesus comes to Nazareth:

Luke 3:23 KJV: And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

And He declares in the synagogue in Nazareth (leaving out the day of vengeance which we are to proclaim in this time):

Isaiah 61:1-2 KJV: The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (2) To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

We proclaim, by the decree of the fathers, 2018 is a year of setting the captives free by the Spirit without measure! The woman (Church) bound by Satan for 18 years under the present day rulers at that time, also prophetically foreshadows this time we have come to:

Luke 13:11 KJV: And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

Luke 13:16 KJV: And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?

How do we then partake of this season; how do we obtain the blessing of those who hunger and thirst after righteousness?

By obeying whatever Jesus says (said by Mary, His mother)

John 2:5 KJV: His mother saith unto the servants, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

We obey and submit to what the Lord says to us through the instructions of spiritual oversight (Heb. 13:17) Naomi and Ruth typify this:

Ruth 3:1-6 KJV: Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee? (2) And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshing floor. (3) Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking. (4) And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do. (5) And she said unto her, all that thou sayest unto me I will do. (6) And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.

So we:

Fill our water pots (bodies) with living water (2Cor. 4:10-11). Using the blood (Heb. 13:20-21), the Word (1Jn. 2:5, 2Pet. 4:3-10) and the power of the Holy Spirit (1Jn. 4:12-13; Rom. 8:10-11) to flush out the sin nature from the soul and body and replace with living water (2Cor. 7:1) by praying in the Spirit with travail and praying frequently in tongues.

John 2:7-8 KJV: Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. (8) And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

Proverbs 18:20 KJV: A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

Isaiah 28:11 KJV: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

John 7:37-38 KJV: In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

As we obey the Lord in righteousness, the water we have ‘pumped’ into our soul and spirit is brought forth as wine that brings joy and refreshing to all.

Proverbs 21:21 KJV: He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
