DEMONSTRATING THE POWERS OF THE AGE TO COME
(mr/01/12/18)
OLUBI JOHNSON
The Lord has given me a prophetic word for not only Nigeria, but for all the nations of the earth. The word of God is complex in the manifold wisdom of God, but overall, it is simple. There is simplicity in the complexity, but it takes an overview of the revelation knowledge of the Word to see that simplicity. Without the overview of revelation knowledge of the Word of God, there is a danger of confusion which can lead to unnecessary controversy. God is doing something in our nation and in the nations of the earth.
The book of Hebrews speaks of tasting of the powers of the age to come.
Hebrews 6:5 KJV: and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
The Lord spoke to me and said, “When you got filled with the Holy Spirit; speaking in tongues and the attendant gifts of the Holy Spirit, that was a tasting of the powers of the age to come. What I am bringing now in the fulfilment of the feasts of Tabernacles in which you will partake of the power of the Spirit without measure on a permanent and abiding basis, you will not just taste but you will demonstrate the powers of the age to come.”
So, while the fulfilment of the feast of Pentecost gave us a taste of the powers of the age to come, the fulfilment of the feasts of Tabernacles will give us a demonstration, a taste of the demonstration of the powers of the age to come! The purpose of that demonstration is for the nations of the earth, Nigeria in particular but the nations of the earth generally, to see the glory of God whereby God will unveil a crop of disciples out of every tribe, every tongue and every kindred on earth to provide and enforce solutions to the problems of the nations of the earth. Different nations have different problems: Nigeria has its own peculiar problems. As of today, the nations are reeling from different kinds of challenges: political, economic, social and environmental problems. Even the leading, great nations of the world, like the United States of America and the United Kingdom, are grappling with their manifold problems. The United States for example is grappling with the sectarian division between Democrats and the Republicans which has led to other myriad issues!
When Joseph appeared before Pharaoh, he said God would give Pharaoh an answer of peace. In this present dispensation, God will give Nigeria an answer of peace, and He will do it through a ‘Joseph’ Church, a Church that is called by His name, and a people, His people that humble themselves, that will pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways (2Chronicles 7:14), so that the purpose of God for Nigeria will be fulfilled and Nigeria will arise into the fullness of her prophetic destiny. Nigeria’s destiny is intricately interwoven with the destiny of the Church. The land will be healed only through the people of God; it cannot be healed otherwise. The Church must fulfil this present truth, prophetic destiny of the fulfilment of the feast of Tabernacles, demonstrating and not just tasting the power of the Holy Spirit! While we do not despise the days of small beginnings, we must now go beyond tasting to demonstrating the powers of the age to come through the manifestation of the glory of God, through the fulfilment of the feast of Tabernacles.
The feast of Tabernacles is the last of the three feasts of Israel. Every Christian is divinely destined and therefore supposed to fulfil the three feasts, but sadly, not every Christian does.
When you get born again, you fulfil the first feast which is Passover. Being filled with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues and its attendant gifts of the Spirit’s is the fulfillment of the second feast, which is Pentecost.
Tongues is just a key that opens a door. It is not an end in itself; it is a new beginning that gives access to the power of God through praying in supernatural tongues. The more you pray in tongues and walk in the Spirit, the more you experience the gifts of the Spirit: revelation knowledge, healing, prophecy, diversities of tongues, etc. From my own personal experience that is a great truth and a reality. Great fathers like Kenneth Hagin and others have written about this. Kenneth Hagin said that the more he spoke in tongues, the more he operated in the gifts of the Spirit; and the less he spoke in tongues, the less he experienced the gifts of the Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit are the doorway to manifestations of the presence and the power of God, and they give a taste of the powers of the age to come.
There is a third feast, which is the feast of Tabernacles. It is not well known and not very popular; not many Christian preachers are talking about it. The majority of Christians are familiar with Passover and also Pentecost. The word ‘Pentecostal’ is almost universal now: everybody knows about the Pentecostal, ‘crazy’ Christians who speak in tongues! However, the average Christian knows little or nothing about the feasts of Tabernacles, nor has it been taught or emphasized. Hence this kind of prophetic message. The destiny of Nigeria is tied to the fulfilment of the feast of Tabernacles in this hour because it is only its fulfilment which will empower us by the abiding power of the Spirit without measure, to demonstrate the powers of the age to come!
