The Sons of Zadok
(week 48/06)
Olubi Johnson
The glorious end-time Church that will manifest the fullness of Christ is prophetically and symbolically described as a city and temple in Ezekiel chapters 40-48.
In this temple or church, we will have two kinds of priests: ordinary Levites and the sons of Zadok.
Who are the ordinary Levites and who are the sons of Zadok at this time?
We need to understand that in the New Testament all Christians are called to be priests (Rev. 1.6, 1 Pet. 2.5) so in the Old Testament sense, all Christians are Levites.
The ordinary Levites are born-again Christians who minister to God only in the outer court.
Ezekiel 44:10-14 KJV: And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity. 11 Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them. 12 Because they minister unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity. 13 And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed. 14 But I will make them keepers of the charge of the house, for all the service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein.
The sons of Zadok are the born-again Christians who minister to God in the Holy Place and Most Holy Place.
Ezekiel 44:15-18 KJV: But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD: 16 They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge. 17 And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within. 18 They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.
What makes you an ordinary Levite or a son of Zadok in this hour?
The Christians and ministers who go astray in this hour by emphasizing material and financial blessings alone at the expense of their spiritual growth, omitting the weightier matters of the law, will be ordinary Levites as the glorious Church comes into manifestation.
Matthew 23:23 KJV: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Psalms 106:14-15 KJV: But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. 15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
They are guilty of New Testament idolatry, which is covetousness: desiring more material prosperity than their present level of spiritual development can handle.
Colossians 3:5 KJV: Mortify therefore your members, which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Hebrews 13:5 KJV: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
3 John 2 KJV: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
This is very common in the Church because the prosperity message has been distorted in the last 20-30 years.
So many Christians and Ministers have gone astray with this idolatry and fallen into the prosperity trap:
1 Timothy 6:5-10 KJV: Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have er from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
All those who have gone astray now will only be Levites in the glorious Church that is presently emerging.
