Being Accounted Worthy
(week 36/08)

2 Thessalonians 1:10-12 (KJVR): (10) When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (11) Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: (12) That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Here, we see Paul praying for the Thessalonians to be counted worthy of the calling to have Christ come in them: for God to fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power so the name of Jesus will be glorified in them and them in him.
This is a prayer we are all to pray for ourselves as a daily habit so that Christ in this 3rd day may come in us in His perfection and fullness.
It is instructive to observe that you need the grace and mercy of God to partake of this calling for Christ to come in you in His perfection and fullness and that grace and mercy comes through praying this prayer for yourself as a daily habit.
It will be presumptuous for one to assume that since one is born-again one will automatically qualify to be partaker of this coming of Christ in us in this 3rd. day.
Now, a consequence of receiving a sufficient measure of the grace and mercy of God is that that grace and mercy will enable you to watch and pray always and so be accounted worthy of this calling:
Luke 21:36 (KJVR): Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Now, the greater the honesty of our hearts, the greater the measure of the mercy of God we will receive; the greater the humility of our hearts, the greater the measure of the grace of God we will receive.
So ultimately what will determine whether we are accounted worthy of Christ coming in us in His perfection and fullness either directly or under covering of a perfect leadership in this 3rd day will be the degree of the honesty and humility of our hearts!
So pray this prayer Paul prayed for the Thessalonians for your self as a daily habit with all fervency, honesty and humility of heart.
