Under the Shadow of His Wings
(week 22/03)

Psalms 17:8-9(KJV): Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.
Here we see David asking the Lord to hide him under the shadow of his wings, from the wicked that oppress him: deadly enemies that surround him.
In this week’s article we want to see who these enemies are and how to remain under the shadow of God’s wings.
To be under the shadow of God’s wings means to be under the protection of spiritual covering.
Spiritual covering is the spiritual power that is coming out of the spirits of those in positions of spiritual leadership who are waiting upon the Lord and are mounting up with wings as eagles.
Isaiah 40:31(KJV): But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
The enemies that compass or surround us are the:
The power of Satan in the air (Ephesians. 2.3)
The carnal mind (Romans. 8.7)
The sin nature in the flesh (Galatians. 5.17).
We will remain under the shadow of God’s wings by
Having an attitude of reverence for those in positions of spiritual authority (1 Thessalonians. 5.13)
Obedience to their instructions from the Word especially concerning prayer and the Word.
Giving to them financially and materially (Galatians. 6.8).
When we are doing this we can overcome the enemies that surround us by:
Daily prayer in the spirit for at least one hour as a goal, even though you start wherever you can and improve gradually. This prayer in spirit overcomes the power of the devil in the air.
Daily reading and meditation of the Word and c to overcome the carnal mind and Satan’s covert operations therein.
Daily confession of the Word, particularly in the area of the fruit of the spirit, to release the nature and character of God therein to overcome the sin nature in the flesh.
