2007: Year of Harvest
(week 01/07)
Olubi Johnson
Once again we wish all our readers a Christ revealing, harvest of blessings and destiny fulfilling New Year!
2007 will be a year of Harvest: a harvest of the seeds of the glory of God that were planted in 2006 and also a harvest of blessings in every area of our lives.
Genesis 26:12 (NKJV): 12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him.
In 2006 there was a tremendous release of the light of the revelation of the glory, through the operation of the Melchizedek priesthood, watching and praying always and the sons of Zadok.
2 Corinthians 4:6 (NIV): 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
So, in this sense, 2006 was a year of the glory, but the fullness of it is still to come.
2006 was also a year of great challenges: a manifestation of both the vengeance of God and the comfort of God: by this revelation of His glory.
2 Corinthians 4:7-12 (NIV): 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
So, now in 2007 we are to be strong and hasten the finishing of the temple that will house the glory of God.
Haggai 1:12-14 (NKJV): 12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the LORD. 13 Then Haggai, the LORD’s messenger, spoke the LORD’s message to the people, saying, “I am with you, says the LORD.” 14 So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God
In order to hasten the manifestation of the fullness of His glory God is presently shaking the Church, so that what remains in place will be that which cannot be shaken: material that will be used to build and finish the glorious Church:
Haggai 2:1-9 (NKJV): 2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying: 3’Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing? 4 Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the LORD; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the LORD, ‘and work; for I am with you,‘ says the LORD of hosts. 5 According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’ 6 “For thus says the LORD of hosts: “Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts. 8’The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts. 9 The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”
Hebrews 12:25-29 (NIV): 25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken-that is, created things-so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”
So it is vital now not to refuse the prophetic Word of building on the rock of revelation and so become a ‘Philadelphia’ saint: for individuals; a ‘Philadelphia’ home: for homes and a ‘Philadelphia’ church for local churches in order to be a carrier of the glory in this season.
In our article next week we will look at how to build ‘Philadelphia’ saints, homes and churches.
