Establishment in the Kingdom
(week 01/03)
Olubi Johnson
Firstly, we would like to wish you a victorious and prosperous New Year in every area of your life.
This year is to be a year of establishment of the Kingdom of God in our lives.
The Lord Jesus taught us to pray:
Luke 11:2 (KJV): And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
This scripture reveals that it is only when the Kingdom of God comes in our lives that the will of God can be done.
The Kingdom of God is the dominion of the King, Jesus, in our lives. In particular, the dominion of righteousness, peace and joy (Rom. 14.17) in our spirits, souls and bodies.
Many Christians experience righteousness, peace and joy occasionally but do not have these things, which really are the nature and character of God, in dominion over their souls and bodies.
It is only when we experience the total dominion of the nature and character of God in our spirits, souls and bodies that we have entered the Kingdom.
When we have this total dominion practically all the time then we are established in the Kingdom.
All born-again Christians have seen the Kingdom (John 3.3), some have entered the Kingdom (Acts. 14.22), and a few have become established in the Kingdom (Rom. 1.11).
When we are established in the Kingdom then we force the will of God to be done in our lives, and in our circumstances, in the Church and in the nation.
The reason why the will of God is not being done in the earth as it is in heaven in our lives, circumstances and nations is because the Kingdom is not established in us as individuals.
This is because it takes spiritual violence to enforce the will of God:
Matthew 11:12 (KJV): And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Matthew 11:12 (NIV): From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.
To become established in the Kingdom we need to:
Exercise the fear of God by being quick to repent, quick to forgive, and quick to forsake sin when it occurs in our lives.
Receive prophetic and apostolic impartation by obeying prophetic and apostolic preaching and teaching of the Word.
Pray in the spirit daily for at least one hour.
Read, study, confess, meditate and obey the Word daily.
As we do these things this year will be a year of establishment of the Kingdom of God in us and so will we see the will of God enforced in every area of our lives: in purity, power and prosperity.
