Shining in the Kingdom
(week 02/03)
Olubi Johnson
In our article last week, we saw that this year 2003 is to be a year of establishment in the Kingdom of God.
This week I want us to look at “Shining in the Kingdom”.
Matthew 13:43 (KJV): Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
To shine in the kingdom is to manifest the life and the glory of God as it was in the life of Christ (John 2.11).
To shine in the Kingdom we need to develop intimacy with the person of the Holy Spirit, who will always put us into remembrance of His Word and also help us by His power to do the Word He reminds us of.
John 14:26 (KJV): But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Rom 8:26 (NIV): In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
This constant interaction with the Holy Spirit in our minds will cause our ‘eyes’ (Eph. 1.18) to be single and so our bodies will be full of light, causing us to ‘shine’ in the Kingdom.
Luke 11:34-36 (KJV): The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
So in this hour the Lord want us to shine in His Kingdom through intimacy with the person of the Holy Spirit.
