WALKING IN FULL AGREEMENT WITH PROPHETIC DESTINY
(week 45/17)
KUNLE SOKOYA, OLUBI JOHNSON AND GBOYEGA ADESIYAN

God states clearly that two cannot walk together except they be agreed:

Amos 3:3 KJV: Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Agreement is defined as harmony in opinion or feeling, OR a negotiated and typically legally binding arrangement between parties as to a course of action.

As born again Christians, we have a covenant relationship with God in which we have been called to become like Him, inherit His glory and establish His Covenant all over the earth (Heb. 8:10-12).

Hebrews 8:10-12 KJV: For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: (11) And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. (12) For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

His Word must ‘become flesh’; that is, come alive through all we think, say and do and we must enforce it in every situation and circumstance.

God’s Word is everlasting and incorruptible (Is. 55:11, Mt. 24:34-35). It demands that we be fully persuaded in our wills, minds, emotions and actions (Heb. 11:13-15).

Being born again (Jn. 3:16), our spirits are recreated anew with eternal life which enables us to ‘see’, or, have an understanding of, and to appreciate and apply spiritual truth.

John 3:3 KJV: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

With our diligent cooperation, we use both God’s Word and His Life and Power to progressive break all previous affinities and alliances with the sin nature in our souls and bodies and bring them into full agreement, so causing a developing and an abundance of the fruit of the Spirit (2Cor. 6:14-16).

We must kill the flesh; be dead to the lust for money, power, and position in order to put on the armour of Love.

Colossians 3:2-3 KJV: Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:5 KJV: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Romans 13:14 KJV: But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].

Ephesians 6:13-18 KJV: Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

God has set spiritual fathers and mothers in His Church, who practice and teach (Acts 1:1, Ezra 7:10) spiritual law and instruction that we must follow to fulfil our destiny (Heb. 13:7-8). Spiritual fathers show us by precept and through the ministry of the word, things we initially may not see, they say things we initially may not understand and give instructions we initially may not agree with.

We are not, however, to despise, reject nor reason away what they said (Pr. 19:26-27) especially, when it is authenticated by God’s Word. We must not be like Jonah who disregarded God’s words and spoke to himself in his mind and acted upon what he said:

Jonah 1:2 KJV: Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

Jonah 4:1-2 KJV: But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. (2) And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, [was] not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou [art] a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.

We must remove from our hearts human reasoning against God’s Word, willful ignorance and stubbornness and crucify wrong heart attitudes towards God’s word and spiritual authority. To do otherwise, is to rob ourselves of the glory God has ordained for us. As we follow fathers, we are rewarded first with the borrowed anointing, and then, as we mature, the Spirit without measure, which manifests as the mind of Christ and the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

John the Baptist was destined to but never walked in the power of Elijah because he failed to recognise and follow his spiritual authority, the Lord Jesus, Who was his earthly younger cousin. (Lk. 1:17, Jn. 10:41). John the Baptist’s end did not glorify God!

Affliction results when we reject God’s instructions (Pr. 19:28-29) given through spiritual oversight, because we become spiritually blind and walk outside God’s will (Eph. 4:17-18). It is in their light we see light (Ps. 36:9).

Jonah is a good example of this shortcoming. The scripture says Jonah prayed with travail (Jon. 2:3) in the belly of the whale. The question is, “Why did he allow adversity before he sought God?” We should not wait for difficult situations before we practice instruction! The earlier we obey, the better. Otherwise God may allow us to be afflicted as an act of divine mercy in order to salvage our destiny as an act of mercy.

To fully agree with and apprehend our prophetic destiny, we must understand that light will not be available to us indefinitely!

John 12:35 KJV: Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Therefore, we use the Blood (Heb. 13:20-21), the Word (1Jn. 2:5; 2Pet.1:4-10) and power of the Holy Spirit (1Jn. 4:12-13; Rom. 8:10-11), through travailing prayer to crucify the flesh (Gal.5:17) which lusts against the Spirit and cleanse out the sin nature from our souls and bodies, and replace it with the life of God, so we become progressively more like Christ (2Cor. 7:1, Mt 11:28-30).

We consciously build our fellowship with the Holy Spirit by praying in tongues frequently (1Thess.5:17; Jude 20-21; 1Cor. 4:18) so we keep ourselves in God’s Law of Love and learn to trust Him more and more (Pr. 3:5-6).

We must pay attention to God’s Word (Pro. 4:20-22) and respond quickly to its admonition, being determined to learn from our mistakes, we will be ready when it matters most:

Regular church attendance is essential to becoming and remaining current with what the Holy Spirit is presently saying and emphasizing (Heb.10:25).

As we are obedient to observe and do all these things, under the covering of spiritual fathers, we will align ourselves with our prophetic destiny as the Lord progressively brings us first into the borrowed anointing, till we mature to inherit the Spirit without measure (Jn. 3:34), and are filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:16-19)!
