GOD’S GOODNESS AND YOUR REPENTANCE 2
(week 29/16)
OLUBI JOHNSON
Last week, we saw that we need to use the space (Rev.2.21) God’s goodness and mercy give us to repent from habitual disobedience and spiritual slothfulness (Heb.6.12).
This week, we will see in more detail HOW to make the most High our habitation by making repentance and walking in love as a DAILY lifestyle rather than something we do occasionally when we feel under condemnation or pressure.
We need the goodness and mercy of God that comes from sincere repentance to survive the perilous times we are presently living in:
2Timothy 3:1-4 KJV: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Matthew 24:7-13 KJV: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (8) All these are the beginning of sorrows. (9) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. (10) And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. (11) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
However, if you will repent and walk in the love of God, you will have divine protection in these perilous times according to
Psalms 91:5-9 KJV: Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; (6) Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. (7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. (8) Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. (9) Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
Now, regular confession of sin, the cleansing of the blood of Jesus, repentance and so walking in love should be a CONTINUAL DAILY practice for us so as to grow spiritually into the perfection and fulness of Christ.
In our article next week, we will see this in even more detail.
