Maintaining Open Heavens

John 1:51 NKJV: And He said to him, “Most assuly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.“
Here, the scripture speaks of the concept of open heavens.
What then is an open heaven?
It is a clear channel in the heavenlies through which your prayers, spoken with your words and thoughts, can be answe without satanic hindrance or delay.
In the books of Daniel and Revelation, it is revealed that a spiritual battle takes place in the heavenlies between the angels of God and satanic angels.
Daniel 10:12-13 NKJV: Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
Revelation 12:7-8 NIV: And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
When your angels prevail over satanic angels in the heavenlies and so can freely bring the answers to your prayers in a specific area without hindrance or delay you are living under an open heaven in that area.
So, you need open heavens over your wife, children, health, finances, protection, physical vocation and spiritual ministry.
It is possible to have an open heaven over one area and not have an open heaven in another area.
We need open heavens over our lives so that the kingdom or the dominion of God can be manifest in our lives and the will of God can be done on earth as it is in heaven (Mt. 6.10).
How then do we get open heavens?
By spiritual violence in spiritual warfare through love and prayer.
Matt 11:12 NKJV: And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
We daily put on the whole armour of God, which is the armour of love, since God is love (1Jn. 4.8).
Ephesians 6:10-12 NKJV: Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
1 Corinthians 13:1 NKJV: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
With this armour in place, we then proceed to enter into regular, diligent prayer in the spirit with all types of prayer, through which our angels will overcome satanic angels in the heavenlies to create open heavens.
Ephesians 6:13-19 NKJV: Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints–
Also we need to give our tithes and offerings regularly to maintain open heavens:
Malavhi 3:10 NKJV: Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I willnot open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
So by daily as a habit walking in divine love and regular, diligent prayer in the spirit (see also our book “A Practical Guide to prayer” for more details) and prompt, regular giving of tithes and offerings we maintain open heavens.
