Fulfilling Prophetic Shadows
(week 49/04)
Olubi Johnson
In our article last week, we saw that prophetic shadows are examples or types written in scripture that apply us to today both individually and corporately. We saw how to get a clearer understanding of these prophetic shadows.
This week, we will see how to fulfill these prophetic shadows.
Once you get a personal revelation of a prophetic shadow and confirmation of the same by independent prophetic and apostolic utterance or preaching and teaching you need to fulfill it.
Fulfilling a prophetic shadow is not automatic simply because you have a revelation of it.
For instance, Jonathan had a revelation of the fact that David would be King and he would be next to David in the new Kingdom after his father Saul would be dethroned.
1 Samuel 23:15-17 NKJV: Then Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David in the woods and strengthened his hand in God. 17 And he said to him, “Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. Even my father Saul knows that.”
However, because Jonathan did not love divine relationships more than natural relationships, he stayed with his father in unbelief in the ‘comfort’ of the palace rather than join David, in faith, in the ‘danger’ of the wilderness.
Matthew 10:37-39 NKJV: He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
It cost Jonathan his life and his destiny:
1 Samuel 31:1-2 NKJV: Then the Philistines followed hard after Saul and his sons. And the Philistines killed Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua, Saul’s sons.
So to fulfill prophetic shadows concerning you make sure you fulfill the conditions of the Word of God that are necessary for the shadow to be fulfilled.
One condition that will cause all of the law and so all shadows to be fulfilled is the condition of walking in and developing to maturity the love of God by the power of the Holy Spirit and the written Word.
Romans 13:8-10 NKJV: Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
1 John 2:5 NKJV: But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him.
Jude 20-21 NKJV: But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
So by daily, as a habit, walking in love, reading, studying, confessing, meditating, practicing the written Word and praying in the spirit you will receive revelation of and fulfill every prophetic shadow concerning you.
